Buying a turbine has never been easier!!!

The American Recovery & Reinvestment act of 2009 offers a 30% federal tax credit for wind turbine systems and includes installation costs. Free energy is finally here. The 4kW Vertical-Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) captures the wind and produces clean, carbon-free energy at a low cost to the owner. The VAWT can be installed with a roof or tower mount to maximize efficiency and capture as much wind as possible. There are two possible forms of installations when it comes to your electricity grid:

Urban Green Energy VAWT
· Turbine starts to spin at 5 miles an hour and will start generating power at 7.5 miles an hour. However, the turbine will generate power all the way down to 2 miles an hour and continues to make power up to 56 miles an hour
· Generates maximum power (4kW) at 29 miles an hour, and continues all the way up to 56 miles an hour
· The turbine can be connected to your home or business to significantly reduce your electric bill, reduce your carbon footprint and produce excess power which you can sell back to your utility company
· Simple installation and low maintenance
· Globalenergywars.com provides you with everything you need to start generating your own clean power
· Quick release blades – Designed specifically to have blades removed in under one hour for extreme weather conditions (110+ miles an hour)
· 20 Year lifespan

Grid-Tie and Off-Grid Systems
With the VAWT you have two options when connecting to your electricity grid, a grid-tie and an off-grid system. A grid-tie system allows you to connect the VAWT to your electricity grid and use grid power when the VAWT is not generating electricity. When the VAWT is producing power your home will use this power instead of electricity from the grid. When excess electricity is generated by the VAWT, it is sold to your electric company. This process is called net metering. An off-grid system means the VAWT and the electricity it generates goes directly to your property and is not in any way attached to your electricity grid.
The grid-tie systems works by having the electricity generated by the VAWT run through an inverter then into the property’s main breaker panel. When more electricity is generated then is consumed, the electric provider will credit you for the excess electricity produced. A utility meter installed by the utility company will measure the amount of excess electricity produced. The Grid-tie system is the most efficient and cost-effective system for a VAWT.
Louisiana law states that the utility company must provide a net metering device capable of measuring the flow of electricity in both directions with the customer’s only expense being a one-time installation charge for the meter. The utility company will credit the customer’s account for electricity production, in the same rates the utility company charges its customers.
The off-grid system is only connected to the property, and excess electricity is not sold back to the utility provider. Batteries can be purchased along with the VAWT that will be charged by the VAWT, and can be used as another alternative source of energy.

Tax Incentives
The American Recovery and Reinvestment of 2009 is a law enacted on February 17th, 2009 that offers a 30 % tax credit on any wind turbine system including installation costs. The state of Louisiana offers its own tax credit for wind turbine systems, offering a credit for 50 % of the first $25,000 including installation costs.
Installation and Maintenance
Installation will require a licensed contractor to erect the tower and turbine and a licensed electrician to connect the turbine to your home. There are two options for the turbine, tower and roof mounting. If the turbine is to be tower mounted, a contractor will pour concrete for the base of the tower. For roof mounting, the contractor may have to reinforce the roof to make sure the turbine can be supported. Maintenance of the VAWT is required. One month after installation, the turbine needs to be stopped and all joints need to be inspected to ensure they are secure. After the initial inspection, the process is repeated every 6 months or if output significantly decreases or if the turbine becomes audible. Output of the VAWT can be monitored daily on a PC.
Warranty and Service
Automated Life offers a service plan, which includes performing inspection and maintenance on the turbine blades at regularly schedule intervals and a protection plan, which includes removing the blades, incase of extreme weather conditions.
